While many records are electronic, others, particularly older records, may only be available in paper or microfilm format. A record view is defined in the record type object and is composed of an interface that displays information from a single record to end users. You can have multiple record views to surface.

Federal case files are maintained electronically and are available through the internet-based public access to court electronic records (pacer) service. Jan 2, 2026birth records become public information 100 years after the date of the event. Death, marriage, and divorce records become public information 25 years after the event.

Pacer provides information about accessing and filing federal court records electronically. Bankruptcy filings are public records open to examination by law with few exceptions. Locate a federal court case by using the public access to court electronic records (pacer) or by visiting the clerk’s office of the courthouse where the case was filed.
