Rapace married swedish actor ola rapace (born pär ola norell) in 2001. In 2009, rapace came to the attention of international audiences for her portrayal of lisbeth salander in the girl with the dragon tattoo (2009). For her performance in the millennium series, rapace won, amongst others, two nymphe d'or, a guldbagge award, and a satellite award as best actress, and was nominated for a bafta.
